Mileage Rates for the IRS
The standard mileage rates for 2011 changed effective July 1, 2011.
For January 1 through June 30, 2011:
• 51 cents per mile for business miles driven (22 cents is the depreciation portion of the 51 cents)
• 19 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
• 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
Effective July 1, 2011:
• 55.5 cents per mile for business miles driven (xx cents is the depreciation portion of the 55.5 cents)
• 23.5 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
• 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
Effective January 1, 2012:
• 55.5 cents per mile for business miles driven (xx cents is the depreciation portion of the 55.5 cents)
• 23 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
• 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
Commuting miles are not deductible.
